In the lead-up to World Down Syndrome Day on 21 March, Australians with Down syndrome will share their pride with the world through 21 stories over 21 days. The patron of Down Syndrome Australia, Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove, will also host an event at Government House on 21 March to acknowledge and celebrate people with Down syndrome and their families.

Down Syndrome Australia and Down Syndrome Queensland are saddened by the death of Dr John Herron. Dr Herron helped establish Down Syndrome Queensland in 1976 and he was instrumental in changing the language used to describe Down syndrome.
