Organisers of the Asia Pacific Deaf Games have decided Hong Kong is too dangerous for the games to be held there so they have cancelled three weeks out.
It’s left the Australian team disappointed and worried that the qualifying matches that will no longer take place in Hong Kong.
More than 70 deaf Australian athletes were due to compete in sports including football, basketball, tennis, athletics and swimming from 1-11 November.
We feel for the athletes who have been honing their skills and improving their fitness for peak performance at these games.
Asia Pacific Deaf Games is a deaf multi-sport event established in 1984 which is held every 4 years in the Asia Pacific region.
